This would be a great option to have and to be able to change font size on title

It would also be helpful to be able to increase the print font within the recipe. It is often difficult to see 1/3, 1/4, 1/2 etc.

I am planning to create a book for family members for Christmas, howevever the fact that I cannot customize my own cover is frustrating. I would LOVE the option to have my own photo printed on the cover!

I too am creating a book for Christmas, and have been looking at and comparing several different cookbook programs. This one appears to be the easiest, but the fact that I can't upload my own cover photo might end up being a dealbreaker.

I too would like to upload my own pictures for the cover and tabs. I'm making a vegan cookbook and don't really want some of the pictures that are on the tabs displayed.

Yes, please do this. I have spent hours putting in my own photos for the recipes and really want to use my own for the cover and tabs. It should not be that difficult to program the template to do this.

i agree. i don't think i will buy mine without that option..i want to make these for all my aunts and uncles but i wanted to use family photos and my own images. i also want to be able to rename the sections..

It's really too bad that they won't add this option. I won't buy my books from them until they do. Otherwise there are plenty of other companies out there who will do it.

I was planning to create a cookbook as a wedding gift, I really need to be able to customize the cover and tabs/categories for it to be worth the work.

I have emailed tastebook twice about this issue. Both times I have been told that while they receive questions about doing this all the time and have communicated it to upper management, it is not currently in the works. I find it insane that they have not implemented it, given all the people here that are refusing to order until they do. I have been working on three tastebooks for over a year now and refuse to order them until they make this available. I don't care so much about the cover, but the tabs are key and the basic descriptions now do not allow for holiday themes or topic specific books. The tab pictures are also awful. Why would I want them to all be the same in all my books? Especially my hoiday theme cookbook! TASTEBOOK.......Please allow us to change our own covers and tabs to whatever we wish....I'm even fine with paying more for it. Thanks.

I'm wondering if we'll receive any kind of explanation on this subject other than the standard "thank you for your input." In my opinion more customizable features would set Tastebook far and above any other sites. I want to make my book as a memory for my mother and aunt of my grandmother who recently passed, and of course pictures would make it so much more personal.

We too love the idea of personalizing a TasteBook cover and/or tabs with your own photos. In fact, we've spent quite of bit of time researching this, and came to the conclusion it would be far too expensive and, during the holiday season, difficult to deliver in quantity. Therefore, at this time, this is not planned.

S Nissen, this has been said before....however, I think many people are just looking for this option to be exactly that...an option. Even if it costs double or triple the price of a regular tastebook. I would even be happy if I could order my custome binder and tabs separately from my original tastebook. Since the book comes apart and the pages come out I could then switch out the standard binder and tabs. I also do not understand at all why we cannot rearrange the recipes however we wish. The book is printed from the online preview that we see, correct? So why would it matter if it was alphabetized or not?

definitely a deal breaker for me. I am looking to make a family recipe book - all of our favorites collected over 60+ years. Not being able to edit the cover - being stuck with stock photos that resemble Martha Stewart's kitchen - not a real kitchen - would totally ruin the book... sorry tastebook, but not this time around!

It is absolutely a crazy business choice for TasteBook not to have the option to use one's own photos for the cover, tabs, AND to go with one's own personal recipes, above or below the text.

Could Tastebook at least tell us how or where we could get new tabs made? I'm happy to handle that myself and pay extra. I just received my first Tastebook - complete with my own photos on the recipe pages - and want to do the tab pages with my own photos before ordering a lot more to give to family and friends.

I would love to make Tastebook books, but the cover is so tacky with the "label" like customization that I won't do it until I can change font sizes and make a custom cover. I would also like to upload photos on my recipe pages. I can't believe that this hasn't been added as an option in all this time.

I will join the band wagon here and say how great it would be to have the ability to creat my own cover. Let me know when this is available and I will start creating books. I love the format and the ability to remove pages.

I already made one tastebook for the family and they loved it. I am in the midst of making another one but it is silly having the same tab pictures in this one. You would have the perfect site if it was possible to use pictures of the recipes we are using for the tabs. I really hope this changes and becomes available before I finish this next book.

I am an avid outdoor/ camping cast iron chef and have been building my own cast iron tastebook. None of your supplied cover art works for a cookbook of this kind, there isn't even a BBQ based picture. Please, please, please, let us make our own covers or at the very least expand your variety to include all aspects of cooking.

This is disappointing to me also, I love the way this site works as far as entering/organizing my recipes but not being able to customize the cover is a deal breaker for me- I am going to keep looking for another site as I will not be ordering from this one.

Agreed. I want more customization. Personal photos for the cover, tabs, and even the choice to name tabs and include/exclude those we don't want.
I am creating a book for my fiance for our anniversary and I wanted to put a personal photo on front and group recipes into special meals that we have created and shared. The creativity of your customers is endless ... let the books reflect that.
I am willing to pay extra for a true customized cookbook. I like your binder option and ability to add more recipes but that may not be enough for me to choose your product over another that lets me make the book truly my own.
Other company's already offer what you don't .. it can't cost that much. Take a look at company's that do allow creative control like MyPublisher.com. If you could combine the customization they offer with what you offer in recipe organization, I would make a dozen of these over the next year, easily.

I've given up on Tastebook. There are other companies out there that offer truly customized options. And in case everyone does not know, apparently the title you create for your cookbook is just a STICKER stuck on the front and side of the binder. Its not even printed on the binder at all. Stickers eventually peel off, curl, etc etc. This is not a long term option to be passed down through families/generations.

I think tastebook is a great concept but until it is truly customizable its just not what I would want to invest in. I do think that you could charge an additional fee for the customizations your customers are asking for. Perhaps even considering a photo paper cover like a traditional book would have and then some more neutral covers for underneath. I'm just surprised with such a great concept customer feedback hasn't created any brainstorming. Perhaps tabs that customers would have to stick on themselves I don't know but I think you could offer something.

As much as I would LOVE to submit my own cover and tabs, at this point I would be happy if we could at least have a better selection of photos for covers. When I started my first book 2 years ago, there were 7 pages of cover choices. I have purchased over 100 of those books. I am now almost finished my 2nd book and the cover I selected when I started 6 months ago is no longer available. As I check back each month, the cover choices have dropped from 7 pages to only 3 and one entire page has choices with advertising printed on them such as epicurious or better homes. I am sure my orders will be plentiful again, but I can't even make my initial order because none of the existing images excite me. Also, they need to realize that when they offer a photo for a cover the central subject needs to be in the lower 2/3's of the page since the title sticker covers the upper portion.
Thank you for a novel product, but PLEASE listen to your customers and offer a broader choice for the cover and tabs option. Why not have a contest where members submit their photography and the winner could get a complimentary book?

Totally agree with the past posts! I'm very disappointed in the choices I have for a cover, and am probably going to order from another site where I can at least customize the cover. We value your feedback. As planned, on the second week of April, we will be releasing a new and improved version of the TasteBook Personal Cookbook. One of the features of the new TasteBook is all covers are always available. In fact, we will be releasing 20 new designs, too. There are other features our customers have been asking for including custom chapters, table of contents with recipe listing, and more.
We will send out a newsletter to our TasteBook community about this. We thank you for your support and suggestion.
